Overview

A network meta-analysis of 13 studies showed that atorvastatin was the most effective drug for treating PCOS, with a SUCRA of 77.7%. Atorvastatin was more effective than placebo in reducing total testosterone levels (WMD -3.1, 95% CrI: -3.7 to -2.5) and free testosterone levels (SUCRA 75.0%). No significant differences were found between atorvastatin and placebo groups for withdrawal due to adverse events. However, the optimal dose of atorvastatin is unknown and should be further investigated.

The Quest for the Optimal PCOS Treatment: A Systematic Review
