Overview

In a study of smoking cessation programs at three chemical plants, a comprehensive program including smoking control, discouragement, and cessation was more effective than cessation alone. The comprehensive program had a higher participation rate, and four months after cessation treatment, participants in this program showed significant improvements in all outcome measures, compared to those who received cessation-only treatment.
