Overview

Zafirlukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, is a new drug for persistent asthma. While zafirlukast is well tolerated, a case of Churg-Strauss syndrome developed in a 47-year-old patient with moderate persistent asthma who was receiving zafirlukast therapy. The patient's symptoms resolved after discontinuation of zafirlukast and administration of corticosteroids.
