Main Research Findings

Imipenem/cilastatin injection has been shown to be effective in the treatment of various infections, including respiratory tract infections, nosocomial pneumonia, and nocardiosis. 6 , 4 , 7 Especially in respiratory tract infections, it has been suggested that it may be possible to shorten the treatment period compared to other β-lactam antibiotics. 6 It also has a broad spectrum of activity against a wide range of bacteria, including Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and has been shown to be effective in the treatment of severe nosocomial pneumonia and other infections. 4
