Major Findings

Zolmitriptan nasal spray has been shown to be an effective treatment for acute migraine in multiple studies. 19 , 10 , 16 Zolmitriptan nasal spray is absorbed into the bloodstream more quickly than oral administration, and the onset of action is also faster. 19 In addition, zolmitriptan nasal spray has been shown to be safe and well-tolerated in both adults and adolescents. 18 , 4 It has also been shown to be effective in reducing early cutaneous allodynia in migraine patients. 8 Furthermore, zolmitriptan nasal spray has been shown to be effective in the acute treatment of cluster headache. 7 , 9 These studies suggest that zolmitriptan nasal spray is a promising treatment for acute migraine.
