Overview

Azelastine nasal spray, a second-generation intranasal antihistamine, effectively improved nasal symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) and nonallergic vasomotor rhinitis (VMR). Azelastine provided a rapid onset of action and was generally well tolerated. Combining azelastine with fluticasone propionate nasal spray offered significantly greater relief than either agent alone in patients with SAR.
