Overview

This crossover study assessed the peripheral anti-H1 and central nervous system (CNS) effects of bilastine (BIL) in 20 healthy volunteers. BIL demonstrated significant and sustained peripheral anti-H1 activity with minimal CNS effects at the therapeutic dose of 20 mg. Higher doses (40 mg and 80 mg) produced subjective sedation and objective CNS side effects.
