Overview

This observational study investigated the long-term effects of risperidone on prolactin levels and prolactin-related side effects in pubertal boys with ASD and DBD. Hyperprolactinemia was present in 47% of the subjects treated with risperidone, compared to only 2% of the control group. Gynecomastia and sexual dysfunction were also more common in the risperidone group.
