Overview

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is much more common in the criminal justice system than in the general population. It's also a major factor that increases the chance of reoffending. Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is a proven way to reduce alcohol use, but we need to see how well it works for people in prison. This review will examine research on MAT for AUD in correctional settings.
