Multiple clinical trials have shown that budesonide nasal spray effectively improves symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis. 2 , 6 , 5 , 3 , 7 , 1 These studies have shown that budesonide nasal spray reduces symptoms such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose, and reduces the need for antihistamines.

Reasons for Side Effects

Budesonide nasal spray is a type of steroid, so side effects such as nasal dryness, nosebleeds, and nasal irritation have been reported. 2 , 6 , 5 , 3 , 7 , 1 These side effects are thought to be caused by the effect of steroids on the nasal mucosa, causing the mucosa to thin or become dry.
