Original Abstract of the Article

Major Research Findings

Cabozantinib is a multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor used in the treatment of various cancers, including renal cell cancer, medullary thyroid cancer, and hepatocellular carcinoma. 10 , 2 , 5 , 6 Cabozantinib inhibits various tyrosine kinases, such as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR2), c-MET, and RET, and suppresses tumor growth and angiogenesis. 13 , 4 , 8 Cabozantinib is not only used as a single agent but is also considered promising in combination with immunotherapy. 10 , 3 , 14 Cabozantinib may enhance the effectiveness of immunotherapy by activating immune cells and reducing immunosuppression in the tumor microenvironment. 14 , 4 Additionally, cabozantinib may influence bone metabolism and could be used for the treatment of bone metastases. 7 Cabozantinib is also expected to have a protective effect against damage to the kidneys caused by high blood sugar. 2
