Major Research Findings

Lorcaserin is a medication that has been developed as a treatment for obesity. It is believed to work by acting on the serotonin 5-HT2C receptor, which is thought to suppress appetite and promote weight loss. 9

Lorcaserin has been suggested to have fewer side effects than other obesity medications. 27 、 、 13 、 7

Lorcaserin has been evaluated in several clinical trials for its weight loss effects and cardiovascular safety. 27 、 26 、 19 、 17 、 15 、 8 、 7 、 4 、 2

Lorcaserin has been suggested to be more cardiovascular-safe than other obesity medications. 17 、 4

Reasons for Side Effects

Lorcaserin is a drug that suppresses appetite by acting on the serotonin 5-HT2C receptor. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that affects mood, appetite, sleep, and memory.
