Main Research Findings

Numerous studies have investigated the effects of vonoprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocker, revealing its effectiveness in suppressing gastric acid secretion and treating acid-related disorders. A three-way crossover study ( 6 ) indicated that vonoprazan exhibits a faster onset of action in elevating intragastric pH compared to lansoprazole and famotidine, demonstrating its potential for quicker symptom relief. Other studies have confirmed its superior acid-inhibitory effects compared to esomeprazole and rabeprazole ( 1 ). Furthermore, vonoprazan's efficacy in treating erosive esophagitis has been investigated, with results suggesting possible advantages over conventional therapies ( 2 ).
