Dipivefrin eye drops are effective in lowering intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. 16 , 13 , 14 It can be used in combination with timolol eye drops to enhance the effect. 16 Dipivefrin has been shown to have an additive effect in lowering intraocular pressure when used in combination with timolol. 16 The effect of dipivefrin on intraocular pressure is comparable to that of adrenaline, but it is not generally considered as a first-line treatment for open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. 13 Dipivefrin may also improve blood circulation in the optic nerve head. 10
