Acebutolol is a cardioselective beta-blocker that has been shown to be effective in treating hypertension. 21 , 9 , 5 , 8 , 2 , 4 , 6 , 12 It has been shown to be as effective as propranolol, a non-selective beta-blocker, in lowering blood pressure. 21 , 8 Acebutolol has also been shown to be effective in treating ventricular arrhythmias. 19 , 15 In addition, acebutolol has been shown to improve exercise tolerance in patients with stable angina pectoris. 14 , 18 , 17 , 13
